Noticing Nature Scavenger Hunt

There is great diversity in habitat and animals at Lake Dardanelle State Park, making it easy to explore and enjoy nature here. We will see how many of the nature items on our list you can find. There are some interesting things on her list, so bring your thinking cap, be ready to get creative with your answers, and let’s go nature hunting. Meet at the front desk of the visitor center. Admission is free.

Largest cash pay-out in the River Valley! Guaranteed $1000 for 1st place in each flight! Dinner for players and one guest on Saturday night. Calcutta Saturday night and entertainment by Jason Campbell following Calcutta. Entry fee is $300 per team, mulligans and skins game included in entry fee. Please bring your own cart, rental carts are limited.
70th Annual Mt. Nebo Chicken Fry
Mt. Nebo State Park, Dardanelle
10:00 am to 9:00 pm
Free admission. If you don't want to drive up the mountain, you may park at the rodeo arena at the base of the mountain and ride in a van up to Mt. Nebo State Park, 16728 W. Arkansas 155.
7 am: 10K run up the mountain for experienced runners only. Registration at 6 a.m. Cost is $25. Watermelon will be available after the run.
9-11 am: Motorcycle show / suicide prevention. Bike entry fee $10. Winners announced at 2 pm.
10 am: Arts and Crafts booths open.
10 am: Log sawing competition sponsored by the U.S. Forestry Service. $5 per entry, proceeds go to Dardanelle High School Weightlifting Club.
10:30 am: Chicken calling contest.
11:00 am: Little Miss Pullet and Little Mr. Rooster contests.
11:00 am: Horseshoe pitching contest.
12:00 noon: Meat-duck-calling contest with a $1,000 cash prize. Entry fee $35.
5:00 pm: Lovely Legs contest for men
Hundreds of pounds of fried chicken tenders and smoked chicken | live music will be played until 7 p.m. Chicken dinners are $6 for adults and $3.50 for children. Art show at the historic Cornwell House on the mountain.
Beekeeping & Honey Extraction Workshop
Heifer Village & Urban Farm, Little Rock

Learn about bees! Heifer Village and Urban Farm will host an educational workshop on beekeeping, and demonstration of honey extraction from their hives. Expect some delicious honey samples as well! This one-hour workshop will take place at Heifer Urban Farm, located behind Heifer Village in downtown Little Rock. Admission is free and open to the public.
