See our aquarium exhibit! We have 8,000 gallons of aquariums, filled with many of the fish species found in Lake Dardanelle. Join park staff in the visitor center as they feed the fish live food. See for yourself – what’s for lunch?

Lake Dardanelle’s diverse habitats provide homes for many creatures large and small. Join a park interpreter in the kid’s corner of the visitor center as she tells you about some of the smaller creatures. She will also feed these creatures; so come discover the small native wonders we have around us.

Lake Dardanelle State Park is proud to offer free winter lake cruises for the best chance of seeing our national symbol, the Bald Eagle. Many other spectacular birds will be in the area for viewing including American white pelicans, ducks, and snow geese. Please dress warmly, as temperatures and winds are more severe on the lake. In an effort to accommodate as many people as possible for our tours, we will be taking reservations. Call the visitor center at (479) 967-5516 to reserve your seat. We will begin boarding 15 minutes before the tour at the boat dock near the tournament weigh-in facility. Tours are weather dependent.

As the Arkansas River journeys through Lake Dardanelle, it continually shapes the land and creates opportunities for people like you. The river is always changing, and hasn’t always looked the way it does today. Have you hiked a trail at Mount Nebo State Park? Have you stayed in one of the rustic cabins? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you've experienced the work of the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps). Join a park interpreter to discover everything the CCC did to shape Mount Nebo State Park.

HIKE THROUGH HISTORY

Take a hike through Mount Nebo State Park's history with a park interpreter! Learn about the luxurious Summit Park Hotel that burned down in 1918, and explore the Civilian Conservation Corps' role in the development of Mount Nebo State Park in the 1930s. This approximately 1-mile hike will be strenuous. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water.

OH DEER

When you come to Mount Nebo State Park, you're bound to see some white-tailed deer. Join a park interpreter to learn about the deer that live in the state park and pick up some tips on how to keep them safe.

WINTER HIKE

Winter brings new things to appreciate at Mount Nebo State Park; no leaves on the trees means an unobstructed view of the Arkansas River Valley, and the cold weather means there won't be any bothersome bugs. Join a park interpreter on a gorgeous hike on a 2-mile portion of the Rim Trail. Wear sturdy footwear and bring plenty of water.
