Meet a park interpreter in the kids’ corner to hear the book and become a part of The Lorax Project.

We humans wear camouflage on a daily basis to blend in while hunting, and sometimes just for style. However, animals have to use camouflage to survive in the wild. Meet a park interpreter in the orientation room to see some pictures of these animals doing what they do best, blending in with nature, and see if you can spot all the hidden creatures in the pictures!

Lake Dardanelle State Park is proud to offer free winter lake cruises for the best chance of seeing our national symbol, the American bald eagle. Many other spectacular birds will be in the area for viewing including American white pelicans, ducks, and snow geese. Please dress warmly as temperatures and winds are more severe on the lake. In an effort to accommodate as many people as possible, we will be taking reservations this year. You will need to call the visitor center at (479) 967-5516 to reserve your seat. We will begin boarding 15 minutes before the cruise at the boat dock near the Tournament Weigh-In Facility. These cruises are weather dependent.

The public is invited to join the Arkansas Photography Club River Valley Chapter for a steel wool photo shoot at the fishing pier. Suggested equipment for those who are interested in learning to photograph spun steel wool includes a DSLR camera with any lens, although a wide angle lens is optimal. A tripod and shutter release cord are also helpful. Instructors will be available to provide assistance to those who need it.
