Lake Dardanelle State Park provides a great setting for viewing the night sky. Join a park volunteer at the swim beach parking area to learn stories and uses of the night sky objects as we explore the sky. We will see how many objects we can identify. There will be stars, moon, and planets.
The diverse habitats around Lake Dardanelle State Park create many opportunities for discovery and exploration. Meet a park interpreter in the visitor center Orientation Room to find out what is in her magic bag! We’ll play a game to let you touch and feel your way around. Hints will be given, but you’ll be testing your sense of wildlife!
The CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) played a large role in the development of Mount Nebo State Park. They built the cabins that park visitors stay in, they built trails that park visitors hike, and they built the highway that park visitors use. What was their daily life like? Join a park interpreter to discover what the day to day life of a CCC Enrollee was like.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of Mount Nebo State Park on a guided hike to the seasonal waterfall! The hike will be short, but strenuous. Wear appropriate footwear and bring water.
Are you looking for a healthy way to start your morning? Join a park interpreter on a leisurely morning hike on a portion of the Rim Trail to enjoy the nature and to take in the beautiful scenery on Mount Nebo. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear, and bring plenty of water!
Are you looking for a way to give back? Are you interested in volunteering? Do you enjoy being outside? Mount Nebo State Park wants you for a new volunteer group. We want input and ideas about the new venture! Join park staff and other volunteers at a town-hall type meeting to discuss starting a volunteer group, potential projects, and what direction the volunteer group should go.
