Petit Jean State Park Hike- Cedar Falls Trail with OAFW!

Join OAFW on a group hike to Cedar Falls! Limited Availability.  Click on the ticketing link to register.

2-mile round trip and rated as Moderate, 367 feet elevation gain.  

The trail begins behind the breezeway at Mather Lodge, a majestic CCC rustic style mountain lodge, and winds down into Cedar Creek Canyon. Massive stone boulders and large trees adorn the trailside. The trail then follows Cedar Creek to 95-foot Cedar Falls, one of the tallest continuously flowing waterfalls in the state.

Proper hiking shoes
Water/Snacks
Sun protection

Meet at the Visitor Center.

This is an adult event, 18+ allowed. Animals allowed but must be on a leash.
Weather: If inclement weather occurs we will notify attendees 24hrs for a reschedule date.

Join us in celebrating National Pollinator Week at Lake Dardanelle State Park. This is a time to celebrate pollinators and spread the word about what you can do to protect them. We will host a Monarch Workshop with Lori Spencer, author of Arkansas Butterflies and Moths. The workshop includes learning about a Monarch’s lifecycle. You will tour the gardens at Lake Dardanelle State Park and learn butterfly identification skills. Participants receive a milkweed plant to take home. Registration is required, space is limited. Lover’s Leap and the legend surrounding it is a part of the tradition of Mount Nebo State Park. Join a park interpreter to hear the legend of Lover's Leap, explore the history of Mount Nebo, and enjoy the breathtaking views from the Rim Trail. This hike will be easy for most of the trip, but the trail is moderately difficult in some places. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, and bring water.

To know Petit Jean State Park, you have to know Cedar Falls. Meet Park Interpreter Carrie to hike down to the foot of this landmark waterfall! The Cedar Falls Hike is a strenuous 2-mile round trip. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring along plenty of water.
