RYBA Premier Pitching & Catching Clinic

This 1-day clinic will cover all fundamentals of pitching and catching. Registration for the clinic includes access either one or to both sessions if your player wishes to attend them both. Session 1 will be Catching, Session 2 will be Pitching. Again your participant may attend either one or both sessions with no additional cost or discount.

Instruction for Pitching Includes: proper pitching mechanics, pitch development, and arm care.

Instruction for Catching Includes: proper catching mechanics, different receiving positions, proper blocking technique, and throw down basics.

Clinic is planned to be held at Hickey Park baseball field(s) 3 & 4 in Russellville. In the event of inclement weather we will default to the following Saturday. *Event updates and messages will occur on this page.

What to bring:

Pitchers: Glove, cleats, hat, shorts or baseball pants, water bottle, sunblock.

Catchers: Glove (Catchers Mitt if available), cleats, hat, baseball pants, water bottle, sunblock. All players with protective catchers gear are encouraged to bring it. *Limited sets will be available.

Meals:

Lunch is provided for all registered participants- we plan to serve various meat and cheese sandwiches and will provide Gatorade and Water. If your child has any special dietary considerations or preferences you may consider sending them with a sack lunch.

Every participant will receive a t-shirt and a swim bag filled with goodies. The top 3 will receive a metal and the first place finisher will get their choice of a 1 Month Pass or a 10-Punch Pass! Join the fun of the Annual Canoe Race on Petit Jean State Park’s Lake Bailey. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the boathouse parking area, and the first heats will begin racing at 8:30 a.m. The event is open to canoes, kayaks or other human-powered watercraft. Rental canoes, kayaks and pedal boats are available at the park boathouse for a fee. The general registration fee is $15. The event includes a short race, long race, beach ball relay and lily pad pickup, as well as a special “just for kids” race. All participants are encouraged to theme their canoes and dress in themed apparel! Be a pirate, superhero, purple dinosaur, Davy Crockett, or whatever! Prizes will be awarded for the best theme and costumes. Awards and recognition is at 11 a.m. This event is sponsored by the Petit Jean Extension Homemakers Club and Petit Jean State Park. Proceeds are donated to the general fund of PJEHC for worthy causes. Canoe Race t-shirts are available at the park’s visitor center. Hot dogs, drinks, and chips are for sale on location.
