MARVA Workshop's Resale Store will be having our annual Black Friday Event on Nov. 29, 2019. The doors open at 9 AM! So come early for the best selection! We have many new items that have been saved just for this sale.
Christmas is about to get real! Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) we're planning to do Christmas Pictures in the Alley. Cost is $5 per picture. Pets are welcome. We'll be set up from 5:45 PM to 7:15 PM. We hope to see you there, and remember... #norulesinthealley
Every Friday excluding Art Walk we will have Game Night from 5-7 pm. You can bring your own games or play ours. It is for any and all ages and free!

We are needing sponsors for our annual toy run! at this event we have the kids take turns to sit and talk to santa, and are taken to a room to pick out one toy. we will have a parade before the event starting at the junior high! the parade will end at the location of the event at the Journey church in Russellville. There will be a chili cook off $100 for 1st place, $100 for peoples choice, and $50 for runner up. Entry is FREE! There will be a 50/50 raffle. Tckets are $1 each or 6 for $5! raffle tickets are also entered for door prizes! There will also be a live auction and a bump n jump! Come out and help our local kiddos, check out some awesome cars and motorcycles, and eat some chili!

The most celebrated outdoor light display in Arkansas for the holiday season opens at Garvan the Saturday before Thanksgiving and runs through New Year’s Eve (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas days). The Gardens will be aglow with over 4.5 million lights in a myriad of natural settings. Features include the luminescent Garden of the Pine Wind, the 50-foot tall Holiday Tree which plays holiday tunes animated to a light show, the Parterre garden on the Great Lawn, and traditional holiday scenes in the woodlands. Conclude your walking tour with free hot chocolate. The Chipmunk Café is open nightly until 9 p.m. serving soups, sandwiches, and snacks.
Holiday Lights is open when it rains; the Gardens closes in the case of inclement weather that would threaten the safety of visitors (lightning, ice, hail. high winds). Sorry, there are no refunds for closings.

Arkansas State Parks Events This Weekend
Avoid the hustle and bustle of Black Friday, go Green at Lake Dardanelle State Park. Spend this holiday season connecting with your family and friends in the great outdoors. Enjoy Lake Dardanelle State Park by renting an adventure PACK for the kids, going on a fall fun scavenger hunt, or borrow a rod a reel and sit along the shore and catch fish. Lake Dardanelle State Park is a place to make family memories this holiday season. #GreenFriday #optoutside
This is your chance to spend a relaxing day at Lake Dardanelle State Park and avoid the chaos of the shopping malls. Come and go activity stations will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lakeview Room. All ages welcome! Visit all of the stations and stamp your Green Friday passport to receive a special discount in the park’s gift shop.
We have 8,000 gallons of aquariums, filled with many of the fish species found in Lake Dardanelle. Join park staff in the visitor center as they feed the fish live food. See for yourself, what’s for lunch?
Lake Dardanelle’s diverse habitats provide homes for many creatures large and small. Join a park interpreter in the kid’s corner of the visitor center as she tells you about some of the smaller creatures. She will also feed these creatures; so come discover the small native wonders we have around us.
Many of the early explorers, including those that traveled through the area around what is now Lake Dardanelle State Park, kept journals of the things they saw and experienced as they traversed the wilderness. Join a park interpreter in the visitor center Orientation Room to learn why it was so important. You will also be able make your own nature journal to take with you.
Lake Dardanelle is home to many interesting creatures due to its diverse habitat. Join a park interpreter at the amphitheater and venture down the Meadowbrook Trail. We will see who is out and about this morning.
Lake Dardanelle State Park is proud to offer free winter lake cruises for the best chance of seeing our national symbol, the bald eagle. Many other spectacular birds will be in the area for viewing including American white pelicans, ducks, and snow geese. Please dress warmly, as temperatures and winds are more severe on the lake. In an effort to accommodate as many people as possible for our tours, we will be taking reservations. Call the visitor center at (479) 967-5516 to reserve your seat. We will begin boarding 15 minutes before the tour at the boat dock near the Tournament Weigh-In Facility. Tours are weather dependent.
There is great diversity in habitat and animals at Lake Dardanelle State Park, making it easy to explore and enjoy nature here. See how many of the nature items on our list you can find. Pick up a list at the visitor center, and return it for a prize.

Before Mount Nebo was a state park, it was home to the luxurious Summit Park Hotel that catered to the upper class. With activities that ranged from evening balls to horseback riding, it was the premiere place to spend the summer in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Join a park interpreter to explore the nooks and crannies of Mount Nebo's hotel history
Did you know owls had superpowers? They can see at night, and they even fight villains! Join a park interpreter to find out what else these superheroes are capable of!
Lover's Leap and the legend surrounding it is a part of the tradition of Mount Nebo State Park. Join a park interpreter to hear the legend of Lover's Leap, explore the history of Mount Nebo, and enjoy the breathtaking views from the Rim Trail. This hike will be moderately difficult. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, and bring water.
When you come to Mount Nebo State Park, you're bound to see some white-tailed deer! Join a park interpreter to learn about the deer that live in the state park and pick up some tips on how to keep them safe!
Mount Nebo State Park's Sunrise Point is a great place to spend time and enjoy views of the Arkansas River Valley. Witness these and other spectacular views while hiking on a portion of the Rim Trail to Sunrise Point. This hike will range in difficulty from moderate to strenuous. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water.
