Arkansas Tech University's Department of Agriculture (ATU AGRI) will be hosting its 36th Annual Poinsettia Sale to benefit the Plant Science and Horticulture programs at Arkansas Tech University. Funds raised support department student organizations to travel to conferences & competitions, purchase supplies for labs and classes, and maintenance of the greenhouse structures and equipment.

Community Choir Concert

The River Valley Treble Chorus and the Community Festival Chorale will come together to present their fall concert. The treble chorus's portion of the concert will include "Let's Sing A Sleighing Song Tonight!", "Gloria Deo", "Seasons of Peace", plus two of the songs they performed for the On A Winter's Night concert, which featured the music of Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

The adult choir repertoire will include selections from some favorite Christmas movies and TV shows, including "Somewhere in My Memory" from "Home Alone"; "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"; "Once Upon A December" from "Anastasia"; "Cartoon Christmas", a medley of those great Rankin-Bass cartoons such as "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer", "Santa Claus is Coming To Town", and "The Year Without A Santa Claus" (with the Heat Miser!!), plus a couple of selections from John Denver and the Muppets.

Both choirs will combine for two selections, "When Christmas Comes To Town" from "The Polar Express" and "God Bless Us, Everyone" from "A Christmas Carol: The Musical". Come support these two great community groups!!!

Summer 2019 Project 222 Parent & Info Meeting

So your child wants to go overseas with Project 222 this summer? Praise God! Let's sit down and go through the details! Project 222 is a one month long missions trip. We will be taking two teams into the country of Tanzania, Datooga and Pemba Island, for the first two weeks and come together as one large team in Kenya for the final two weeks.

There will be a parent meeting Saturday December 1st from 10-Noon on the ATU campus in Rothwell Room 208. The Chi Alpha staff will give helpful information about the Project 222 Trips and answer any questions you may have! Coffee and breakfast snacks will be provided. Students seeking to go on Project 222 this summer are required to attend the info meeting from 10-12 as well as the Support Raising Training from 1-3pm. Parents are required to attend neither session. Thank you and see you there!

Russellville Lions Club Annual Radio Auction

A Charlie Brown Christmas Parade

He will be partnering with two of our members, The Artistic Lenz and Gallery One Photography!

From 1 PM - 5 PM on the 1st, photos with Santa will be at the Chamber, taken by The Artistic Lenz. Following the parade, you can join Gallery One Photography at the Courthouse steps for photos as well, they will stay until all the children's photos are taken! All are welcome to attend this no pressure, no questions asked free lunch.  Doors open at 11:30 am. Fresh coffee is served and then lunch is served at 12 pm to 1 pm.  In addition to the wholesome and delicious hot FREE LUNCH served two other offerings for our Neighbors are now available. Guests who come for lunch can now pick up a sack lunch to take with them and have a second free meal; and, after lunch, there are usually “take-outs” available (and, as always, generous portions of “seconds” are served before dessert.)
Also, the clergy and people of All Saints’ have begun a new “Loaves and Fishes” ministry, with Sunday morning offerings at the altar now including necessities like cereal, peanut butter, shelf-stable milk, toilet paper, toiletries, hand soap, and detergent. The available items gifted each Sunday will be distributed on the following Saturday to Neighbors Table guests after the meal.

Eagle Watch Tour

Lake Dardanelle State Park is proud to offer free winter lake cruises for the best chance of seeing our national symbol, the American bald eagle. Many other spectacular birds will be in the area for viewing including American white pelicans, ducks, and snow geese. Please dress warmly as temperatures and winds are more severe on the lake. In an effort to accommodate as many people as possible, we will be taking reservations this year. You will need to call the visitor center at (479) 967-5516 to reserve your seat. We will begin boarding 15 minutes before the cruise at the boat dock near the Tournament Weigh-In Facility. These cruises are weather dependent.

This 1-mile hike will be strenuous. Be sure to bring water, and wear sturdy shoes.
