Dardanelle Christmas Parade With McElroy House

The McElroy House is participating in the Dardanelle Christmas Parade!! “Everyone is Welcome”
You’re all invited and encouraged to participate in any and every way. We would love as many walkers along with the float that we can get! Bring your dog along for the walk as well!! If you would like to bring candy to pass out along the way you are welcome to do so, but we will also have some for everyone to hand out. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Come show your support for our community with The McElroy House.

Floats will line up on the Right Side of Merritt Park! Along with our Float we will have a "Caboose" Car that will ride behind us where we can all take turns resting and warming up for a bit before rejoining the crew!! We are going to represent who we are and what we have to offer at the McElroy House!! When we all come together we create great things!! ONLY RULE IS THERE ARE NO SANTAS ALOWED!! Due to the forecast this event has been rescheduled for Dec 15th! We will be moving to the Dardanelle Senior Activity Center for the day. The Dardanelle Farmers Market is hosting a Christmas Pop Up Market. Come do your holiday shopping while listening to live Christmas music. Stay tuned for more information.
Rural Route Farms will have raw local honey, soaps, hand sewn crafts and granola.
Homegrown & Homemade will have their famous kettle corn, Christmas cookies and other baked goods, cotton boll angels, cotton crafts and more.
Bowman Farm will have bread, crafts, jelly and homemade candy.
Cary's Custom Crafts will have crochet & knit hats, fingerless mitts, ear warmers, cowls, kiss clasp coin purses, bath salts, shower melts, stress dough, & lip balm.
Pleasant View Farm will have jam and jelly gift packs, potholders, regular caramels, chocolate covered caramels, various baked goods, cutting boards, wooden pens and other handmade wooden crafts.

Viney Creek Farm will have goat milk soap, aloe vera lotion, luxurious emulsified sugar scrubs, lip balms, gift sets and more.
Dennis Catlett will have molasses and horse shoe art.
Hoien Farms Beef will have USDA certified frozen beef, raised in Atkins, AR. They will have ground beef and a variety of other cuts.
Holland Family Honey Farm will have turnips, butternut squash, acorn squash, spaghetti squash, fresh peanuts roasted on site, raw local honey, sorghum, beeswax skincare and jams.

All are welcome to attend this no pressure, no questions asked free lunch.  Doors open at 11:30 am. Fresh coffee is served and then lunch is served at 12 pm to 1 pm.  In addition to the wholesome and delicious hot FREE LUNCH served two other offerings for our Neighbors are now available. Guests who come for lunch can now pick up a sack lunch to take with them and have a second free meal; and, after lunch, there are usually “take-outs” available (and, as always, generous portions of “seconds” are served before dessert.)
Also, the clergy and people of All Saints’ have begun a new “Loaves and Fishes” ministry, with Sunday morning offerings at the altar now including necessities like cereal, peanut butter, shelf-stable milk, toilet paper, toiletries, hand soap, and detergent. The available items gifted each Sunday will be distributed on the following Saturday to Neighbors Table guests after the meal.

The Arkansas River creates many recreational opportunities for us to enjoy. Join Lake Dardanelle State Park staff for O.W.L.S. (Outdoor Women Learning Skills), a program series designed to give ladies the opportunity to explore the available recreation at Lake Dardanelle and the surrounding area, by learning skills and knowledge needed to enjoy nature. The series is one evening a month for 6 months, you can come to 1 or come to them all. Each month we will cover a new topic. Pre-registration is required for each date and includes dinner.

You can explore nature at this park because Lake Dardanelle State Park’s diverse habitats sustain many living creatures. Meadowbrook Trail is home to many of these creatures. Lake Dardanelle State Park is proud to offer free winter lake cruises for the best chance of seeing our national symbol, the American bald eagle. Many other spectacular birds will be in the area for viewing including American white pelicans, ducks, and snow geese. Please dress warmly as temperatures and winds are more severe on the lake. In an effort to accommodate as many people as possible, we will be taking reservations this year. You will need to call the visitor center at (479) 967-5516 to reserve your seat. We will begin boarding 15 minutes before the cruise at the boat dock near the Tournament Weigh-In Facility. These cruises are weather dependent.

Are you looking for a healthy way to start your morning? This short hike will be moderately difficult. Make sure to bring water, and wear sturdy shoes.

Join a park interpreter on a moderately strenuous hike to experience the magnificent view from Sunset Point. Bring water, and wear sturdy footwear.
